For the first time ever an actual human being is making an appearance on my blog! And who is it you ask... none other than my very own big brother!
Matt is a lucky guy... so most people think...
I believe it has to do with his undeniable drive and ambition. And it's these type of qualities in him that has taken him to utterly amazing places and given him opportunities to do some incredible things. A lot of the time it's about being in the right place at the right time, but it's just as much about seizing those opportunities and that is where Matt differs from most. He has the ability to do it. And this past weekend is just an example, as told by Matt himself...
I went to the 02 Arena (the former Millennium Dome in East London) for a pro tennis tournament featuring top-10 players Andy Murray and James Blake as well as Goran Ivanesavic, Greg Rusedski and others. Before entering the gates, I won a fast-serve contest outside the arena, and the reward was that I got to play a couple of points against Jamie Murray (the 2007 Wimbledon doubles champ)! It was awesome to play in front of 15,000 people, and on UK national television! Unfortunately, i lost the 2 points, but it was so much fun, and it was a childhood dream fulfilled to play in a huge arena in front of a huge crowd, even though it was so unexpected and i was so unprepared - wearing jeans, a long sleeve shirt, and using an unfamiliar racket.
