And the Gingerbread House...

Stuart and I made a Gingerbread House and I think it turned out pretty cute; even if I do say so myself! Here's how the story goes:

All day Sunday we rolled out the dough and cooked the sides and roof tops of the house. After all that rolling, cutting and cooking, I got tired and checked out (are you noticing a common theme here?) and decided we could decorate it another night. Since Stuart is in the process of selling his house (which he signed a contract on yesterday!!!), it has to stay spic-and-span. So, we decided to store the the walls and roof tops in the oven where no one would see them.
.
Well, Monday night we didn't decorate it because we took the dogs for a walk and then made lasagna. However, in the process of making lasagna you use the oven and therefore, I immediately started pre-heating the oven when we got back from our walk. So I'm just plugging along, making lasagna and in walks Stuart and he says, "What's smoking?" I turn around and there is smoke coming up from the stove top and I say, "Oh man! I don't know!" And then Stuart says, "The Cookies!" And I say "OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOO! THE GINGER BREAD HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
.
But not to fret, Stuart saved all sides except for the one I pulled out in my frantic state and broke into three pieces! (That would be the side of the house that is not pictured.) Luckily, only the backs got a little brown!
So we finally decorated it last night and I love it! I know some of you out there would have liked some more color and sparkles, but if you know me, you know I'm just not that kind of girl sometimes...
